Jackson Beach
horizontal line

Located in the western side of the Samaná Peninsula, Jackson is a deserted beach of golden sand still uncontaminated and wild. Its turquoise waters hide thousands of colorful fish, snorkeling here is a true pleasure.

There is an old abandoned cabin on the beach, and is commonly used by the visitors to make base and prepare a small picnic. From Jackson one can walk, without interruption, to until La Majagua, or simply until arriving to a small river. Don’t forget your camera!

A rocky cliff surrounds the beach, therefore it can only be reached by boat or walking. There are different agencies that offer the excursion by boat. Visit our section "How to organize your excursions" to contact them directly.

If you decide to walk there, you should start early because the journey will take about two and a half hours. The road starts at Punta El Subidero (west end of Cosón Beach) and you’ll climb and descend many small hills that provide gorgeous views of the ocean and local vegetation. We recommend hiring a guide.
